Picture of Barb ConnellyThis is my twenty-second year with Mahtomedi Public Schools. I work in Special Education as a licensed Occupational Therapist. I serve Special Education students in grades 3-12 and the Passages Transition Program. I also function as the district Assistive Technology Coordinator.

I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  I also hold a Master of Liberal Studies in Assistive Technology from Fort Hays State University in Kansas.

I have a great family which includes my husband Neal of 33 years and two children. My daughter Brenna, age 27, graduated from Mahtomedi High School and the Carlson School of Management at the University of MN and works for Cargill.  My son Mike, age 30, graduated from Mahtomedi High School. He has a chemistry degree from Concordia Moorhead College and is employed by Fair State Brewing Cooperative.

Our School
We believe in creating a safe and challenging learning community with the goal of bringing together social and academic learning throughout the day to foster and support engaged, caring, and responsible learners. Our dedicated teachers work with students to develop a growth mindset by providing learning opportunities that spark effort, curiosity, and engagement to fuel growth and achievement. Our school-wide Zephyr Time Celebrations, Morning Announcements, all-school River of Rocks art project, Fun Run, and Nature Trail Day are ways in which we build a strong sense of community. Whether it is programming robots, book clubs, math talks, cross-country skiing, or composing music, we are committed to providing an engaging and challenging education for all students.
