Fourth grade math includes naming and constructing geometric figures. Students will also learn place value and organizing data, basic math facts, number sentences, and algebra. Multi-digit multiplication and division will also be taught. Students work with fractions, decimals, percents, and probability. We also cover perimeter, area, measurement and drawing of angles, and general geometry. Finally we will work with 3-dimensional shapes, volume, capacity and, rates. The year ends with a review.

Students are grouped for math. These groups are flexible and may change throughout the year based on MAP scores, teacher observation of student work, and student work habits. It is our goal to provide appropriate placement for students based on these factors.
