Hello!

My name is Maren (pronounced Mar-in) Hanson! This will be my seventh year as an educator, but my first year in Mahtomedi and I am so excited to be here. I graduated from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities in 2013, got my Masters in 2014 and taught in Columbia Heights, MN until this year! I grew up in Madison, WI (never was a Badger or Packer fan though- go Gophers!) and now live in Stillwater with my husband Steve.

My favorite thing about teaching is building relationships with students. My mission is to make each student feel loved, safe, and supported, but also making sure they are having FUN! I love to sing, dance, and be silly in addition to teaching academics.

Now some questions third graders might be wondering:

My favorite color: Navy Blue
My favorite food: DONUTS
My favorite book (s): Harry Potter
My favorite movie: Inside Out
My favorite thing to do outside of school: Go to a pool or lake
My favorite sport: Dancing and I'm starting to get used to golfing

If you have any questions, please just ask! I'm so excited to be your teacher this year!

-Maren Hanson
